Greetings Everyone!

Spring is here and so is the time to resume our LPHDNA monthly meetings! We have lots to catch up on! Please join us at the first meeting of this season on Thursday, April 20th, at 7:00 pm, in the Pavilion. You may recall that we will NOT be having the potlucks prior to the meetings for a while. If it is determined later that a majority wants them to begin again, they will. Our guest speaker will be Steve Lane, Parks and Public Property Superintendent. Steve has been with the Parks Department for nine years and plays a key role in planning, implementing, and maintaining the city's recreation areas, parks, memorials and city entrances. He is responsible for initiating a state-funded beautification project aimed at decorating the city's gateways with wildflowers and prairie grass. Steve has a degree in landscaping and offers a great deal to the city.

This meeting will feature information and updates on our fundraisers and upcoming activities, LPHDNA's participation in a grant program offered by Keep Vermilion County Beautiful, when you'll be receiving your neighborhood directory, what took place at the Neighborhood Association Workshop in March, how the "Speed Watch" program works and the HALO Paint Blitz. Also, the 50/50 raffle will continue.

The slate of officers for our May election will be determined this month. Vacant positions are Vice President and Treasurer. Nominations are welcome for ALL positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Board of Directors. The assistance from Block Captains is vital. There can be more than one per block. Please consider volunteering.

Park Clean Up Day is Saturday, April 22nd, 9:00 am. We'll meet at the north entrance to the park. By helping to clean up the park during the months of April and May, YOU are eligible to win a Troy-Bilt Chipper-Shredder-Vacuum machine valued at $500. (See back of this page.) The drawing will take place on June 2nd through the Keep Vermilion County Beautiful program. It only takes a little time to make a BIG difference! YOUR help is needed and appreciated in keeping our community one that we are proud of. Maintaining Lincoln Park (and our own properties!) reflects positively not only on just our neighborhood but also on the entire city of Danville.

As always, I hope this finds you and your loved ones doing well. I look forward to seeing all of you at each monthly meeting this season, beginning April 20th. The remaining meeting dates are May 18th, June 15th, July 20th, August 17th and September 21st. Let's continue to work TOGETHER in keeping the Lincoln Park Historic District clean, safe and beautiful! Thank you for your support.
