LPHDNA AUGUST 2009 NEWSLETTER

Last meeting of the season is next month - September 17th

Hi everyone!

WOW! What a fantastic Garden Walk last month!! Thanks to everyone who contributed to its success with special kudos to the Planning Committee which consisted of Jerry Askren, Bonnie Bowles, Dona Farnsworth, Linda Federman, Patsy Jones, Sue Jones, Amy Lamb, Joyce Melton, Jennifer Mendoza, Mike Puhr, Sue Richter, Pamela Starr, Ellen Vanesse and me. Many positive remarks were made about the Walk and countless compliments to the neighbors who featured their homes and/or gardens. Great job everyone!! Raffles winners: Bill Cooper won the lily; Terry Lyons, Becky Engel and Luann Torbit won the Museum bags filled with all kinds of gifts and goodies. The next House and Garden Walk will be July 21, 2012. Believe it or not, it isn't too early to start thinking about it! Check our website listed at the top of the page for photos of our recent Walk.

Appreciation is extended to Kevin Jett from the US Census Bureau for speaking at our last meeting. He emphasized the importance of everyone completing the 2010 Census that will arrive in our mailboxes in the spring. Further discussion will take place at this meeting. The minutes of the July meeting are on the back of this page.

This month's meeting is August 20th, 7:00 pm, at Friendly Town. Our guest speaker is Rick Todd, Project Manager, for the home being rehabbed at 913 Grant by young people from the Center for Children's Services.

The "Most Improved Property" sign was awarded to the home at 913 Grant being renovated by the students from Center for Children's Services. Congratulations! What great improvements!

A community yard sale has been mentioned for the fall. Deciding early will give us plenty of time to clean out those closets, garages, basements, etc. We'll set a date at this meeting

Because of rain, the 9:00 am park clean up on July 25th didn't take place. However, Keith and Nancy Bates went at 10:00 am and picked up the debris. Thanks, Keith and Nancy, for being such good citizens!

Thanks, Cathy Johnson, for donating your winnings from the 50/50 raffle to the Association.

For those of you who have the "meeting reminder signs"…. Please remember to put them out on the Monday prior to our meeting.

Thanks, Block Captains, for delivering these newsletters and various flyers.

As always, I hope this finds you doing well. I look forward to seeing all of you on August 20th, 7:00 pm, at Friendly Town. PLEASE ATTEND - YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED!

Best regards,

Brenda Dwiggins President, LPHDNA
